- WHAT IS PIRATED SOFTWARE?
Pirated software is illegal.
Pirated software is software that is offered for sale, sold or provided in any other way by persons who do not own, or have any rights to that software.
Pirated software is generally not a complete copy of genuine software and is often unstable or unusable.
Pirated software is usually traded over the internet for much less than the cost of genuine software. If the price of software is too good to be true, the chances are it is illegal or unlicensed.
Beware of software sold on eBay and Facebook. These sellers take your money and provide extremely outdated and unsupported software.
All legal software requires a hardware dongle. You can contact Institch to verify if the dongle is legitimate and active before purchasing.
- HOW TO ENSURE THAT MY SOFTWARE IS A GENUINE INSTITCH PRODUCT?
Genuine Institch software will require an authorisation code to activate the software. This is known as a “dongle”. All Institch dongles are supplied an Access Code to activate them. These access codes are issued by Institch and validate a legal dongle.
The most common way for illegal Institch software to be distributed is when illegal copies are made and distributed in packaging that replicates the genuine Institch packaging. Counterfeit registration cards with unauthorised serial numbers are often included in these packages.
If you are, or believe you are, in possession of pirated Institch software, we urge you to replace the pirated copies with genuine Institch software right away.
